The Child Care and Protection Board is part of the Ministry of Justice and the ministerial programme 'Youth & Family'. It executes tasks that offer support to families and takes action if the development and situation of a child is in danger.

 

In order to realise an improved information exchange within the criminal law, care and protection youth chains, the Child Care and Protection Board was in search of a software suite that could achieve this goal. Screening minors, identifying needs and creating risk assessments are important components of this goal. This must improve the inadequate information exchange in the youth chains using, for example, process steps that are not linked together. Many tasks that have already been performed in the chain must also be streamlined. The aim is to achieve a current, correct and complete insight into the children in the chain.

 

The IFLI was initially developed as a pilot. This system is used in the juvenile criminal justice chain by the Child Care and Protection Board, among others. Using intelligent questionnaires, the system records information and determines the damage and risks for the youth in relation to whom the form has been completed. The definitive project was started following the pilot.

 

Results achieved

• Successful pilot in which much experience and knowledge was gained, which can be used in the roll-out of Aquima in the youth chains. Expected results: better information exchange in the chain, flexibility, adaptability and uniformity.
